Living. Connecting. Celebrating. Serving.

St. Matthew’s is a traditional United Church with contemporary thinking – a place for questioning and seeking in your faith. We provide a space where you can embrace the mystery, where you can explore and discuss spiritual issues in an open and accepting atmosphere. Our traditional service and music offers the warm familiarity of Sunday morning, helping to ground you in a shifting world, while our community-driven concept, conversation, and outreach keeps us open to new ideas and exploration of diverse points of view – all to create a dialog that brings communities and faiths closer together as human beings.

We are strong proponents of social justice – working with and supporting other organizations to engage our community, both locally and around the world. We believe that life is meant to be enjoyed, even at church. Here you’ll find warm, friendly people with a light-hearted approach to life. So, come in, sit down, you’re a part of the family. At St. Matthew’s we offer a place to help you find your quiet centre, but also your sense of humour. You need both.

Sunday Services

Sunday Services begin at 10:30 a.m. in the main sanctuary. Coffee and water is available in the narthex (main entrance) beginning at 10:00am, and each service is followed by coffee and fellowship downstairs in our hall, offering a great time to catch up with old friends and meet new people. We have an excellent choir and music program, adding that special something to your time with us. Everyone is welcome, including (or perhaps especially!) children. We have a children’s program coordinator providing activities downstairs during the service. For parents in the nursery with fussy infants or small children there is a feed from the sanctuary’s sound system.  If children wish to remain with their parents in the sanctuary we have additional activities available.

You will find us at 2035 – 26A ST SW. Enter through main doors at the corner of 21 AVE and 26A ST SW. There is some off-street parking behind the church, with additional street parking available where indicated. In deference to our neighbours, we ask that you please park courteously.
