Reclaiming Revelation

Starts September 28th, 2015

The last book of the Bible sits all by itself as a strange appendix to the New Testament. It is at once both compelling and bizarre, and occupies a unique place in Christian spiritual life. It has often become the purview of fundamentalist “fire and brimstone” preachers, and those occupying mainline pulpits are often reluctant to take it up. Yet the Book of Revelation is a fascinating work of art, demanding our full attention, and it is in every way worth reclaiming as a part of the Biblical witness.

Learning Objectives & Purpose

The goal of the study is to provide participants with a meaningful seven-week exploration of the last book of the Bible, exploding some modern misconceptions about the often controversial work, and giving them a new appreciation for the positive influence that it has had, as well as it how it can speak to 21st Century mainline churches.

Can I Participate?

Sure! As an adult education project, Reclaiming Revelation is intended for anyone interested in exploring the last book of the Bible from mid-teens on up. The study assumes that you are old enough to think in abstract terms, even if it is not part of your comfort zone.
