Our Holy Week services this year will begin with a Maundy Thursday Service and Supper, beginning at 6:00 pm and finishing at 7:30 pm on March 28, 2013.
Our Good Friday service will be at 10:30 am. If you are wondering why we call it ‘Good Friday’, you are one of many. There are many attempts at explaining the name, of which one or two might work for you. For those who believe that Jesus paid his life as the price for forgiveness of our sins, his death, tragic as it was, it was the day that cleared away a debt ordinary humans could not pay. For me, it contrasts the goodness of God with the self-centeredness of people., and it is part of a foundational story for our Christian faith.
Our Easter Sunrise service will be at 7:00 am on Sunday, March 31 in the park near Bow Trail and 24th Street, to be followed by breakfast at the church.
Our main Easter service with communion will be at 10:30 am. Our service of The Lord’s Supper / Communion / Eucharist is open to all who seek nourishment for their journey on a path towards the wholeness and holiness offered by Jesus.
The Good Friday and Easter Sunday services will include several special pieces of music.
